Open Dance

Open Dance is an ongoing opportunity for the dancers to engage with the dynamic tradition of Somali cultural dances in a relaxed setting. Unlike structured classes, Open Dance offers a space where participants of all skill levels can experience Somali dance without the need for experience or registration. It reflects the Somali Museum's broader mission to make Somali culture and heritage accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience.

Sheeko Sheeko

A monthly storytelling event for children. This event is led by Mariam Mohamed, a children’s author, filmmaker, and retired teacher, who brings her passion for storytelling to life through interactive readings and fun activities. 

Each month, Mariam will share a new children’s book, creating a lively and engaging environment where young readers can enjoy stories and learn valuable lessons. Each session will feature a different book and an opportunity to explore the messages and themes within them.
