The Dance Troupe

The Somali Museum Dance Troupe brings together Somali-American youth to study dances from all regions of Somalia as a way to embrace and celebrate their roots.

As a student, once you reach proficiency, you will be given the opportunity to audition to join our Somali Museum Dance Troupe. Members perform on various cultural stages and community events as cultural performers within our program and our community.

Enrollment

As a dance student, you are part of a community dedicated to the art of dance. Students have access to classes that are not open to the public, where you are able to build both technical skill and artistic expression. In addition to regular classes, students may participate in workshops led by expert instructors and have opportunities to deepen their knowledge through seminars. Beyond dance practices, students will be actively connected to the dance program, the programs department, and our broader museum community!

To register for dance classes, you must be enrolled in our Dance Program. Enrollment is always open. If you have any questions about your enrollment, please reach out to info@somalimuseum.org with questions.
